Episode Summary：
Arthur passed the terrific selection rounds and became Pride’s Queensguard Knight. Pride, Stale and Tiara were jubilant at the result. Later, after completing their official duties, they made their way back to the castle, only to find Val lying on the ground. Pride asked him what happened, as he had come per the order of his previous fealty contract, that is to come to her when he is in dire need of help. Val then told Pride that, Sefekh and Khemet, the orphans he was living with, were taken by human traffickers and that he wants them to be rescued.

📖Synopsis：

Eight-year-old Princess Pride Royal Ivy realizes that she was a girl of an ordinary Japanese family from nowhere in her previous life. She’s now reincarnated as the villainous queen of an otome game, “Our Ray of Light”. She becomes Pride, the worst queen who torments her country and her people according to the game’s story, the game’s last boss. When she realizes that, she wants to avoid tragedies by relying only on her memories of the game. To avoid the tragedy that will happen in the future and to create a world where all the characters can be happy, she does her best for her country and her people while avoiding to become the last boss.

She's not really the villainess, but the protagonist. The author was referring to her previous state, of course she's different now because the soul whose contain in Pride's body is a walk-in soul that made her a totally different person. Spiritually speaking that is..
I freaking cried. Val went through some shii and Pride even hugged him not letting him resist. Human physical affection works wonders.
13:38 This part is pretty interesting linguistically. When interrogating Val, Pride repeats "Answer me", and "kotae nasai" in Japanese which is pretty much to order him to answer her, but the moment Val broke and his true feelings showed, she changed it to "Tell me" at 14:14, "oshiete kudasai" in Japanese which is to ask someone to tell/teach you something more politely (something like "please tell me"). Such a subtle change but it showed that she successfully broke his wall which she knew, and also showed how she knows when to be firm and when to be gentle.
Also, from 19:48, when telling him that it's because he cares, she repeats "I'll have you know", "kotae masu" in Japanese and the direct translation is "I'll answer". I thought it was a nice juxtaposition to before. Like she was asking him for answers before and now she's the one giving the answers.

I've watched this series a lot of times but I still hate this episode of her and Val. She's acting as though she know everything and understands how everyone around her feels. Especially when she's using the contract to force him. She's only doing what she thinks can save her though. Had she just executed Val in the first place, it shouldn't have come to this point. Well, my thoughts. But I actually love this series, except this episode ❣️
