Episode Summary：
The injured Julius is taken to the Green Room to recover from his battle with Reid. Subaru and the others attempt to pry hints from Shaula on how to overcome the first Sword Saint, but they don’t learn anything useful. After a brief, cheerful meal late into the night, Subaru wakes to find Foxidna standing alone on the balcony. Casting aside her Anastasia facade, Echidna speaks to him purely as an artificial spirit. But as the two confront one another’s true intentions, they find out their conversation has been overheard by Julius.

📖 Synopsis：
Subaru and his allies barely win the brutal battle in the Watergate City of Pristella, but at a high price. Rem remains in an endless sleep due to the Authority of Gluttony, Crusch’s memories are still missing, and Julius has lost his very name.
In the midst of searching for a solution, Subaru learns of the all-knowing Sage Shaula. They set their sights on the Pleiades Watchtower, where the Sage resides. The lone tower stands at the edge of the vast Augria Sand Dunes, a deadly desert even the strongest Sword Saint, Reinhard, could not conquer.
Fierce terrain, unknown witchbeasts, and unimaginable threats stand in their path. Together with his companions, Subaru begins another perilous journey, staking his life to reclaim everything taken from him.

Some LN Extra Details (Volume 22 Chapter 6-7)
– Subaru feels that he is understanding Patrasche much better now, even without translator like Otto.
– Emilia ask if she should froze the door as well, but Subaru said no need for that, and Emilia just `teehee-d`, but Subaru does not dismiss that suggestion in his mind and think of it as a last resort incase Julius is being stubborn.
– Subaru praised Meili for being a person outside of the group that can bring her own point of view when asking the group to stop fighting, since she does not like pain or scary things. She just smugs childishly with a smile and told him to be grateful.
– Meili is taken aback when Subaru told her that he might be depending on her more in the future, and putting a short note on this is why Petra is always worried. She just dismissed it when Subaru is asking about that.
– When discussing for Reid's weakness, they concluded that they need to not let him get serious and get his expectations turned upside down, and making a winnable condition that he will accept.
– Subaru thought in his mind that even though Shaula is friendly and affectionate, she is not an ally that can be trusted.
– When they were eating, Subaru asked on where the water came from, Emilia replies that it came from the green room.
– Beatrice pointed that even they can also create water with magic, it is better to avoid doing that using mana that had been exposed to miasma in the air for too long.
– Subaru was still surprised the fact that Ram can do cook when they are travelling for over a month. He thought she can only do steam potato. Subaru thought that she can do things if she set her minds to. Subaru thought she might be more of a slacker, but decided not to dive too deep into it.
– Watching the flock of birds and Foxidna touching it making Subaru wary and reminds him of his PTSD with a certain group of bunnies.
– Anastasia and Foxidna's initial impression of Subaru is that he is just a rookie knight that achieved multiple feats, but that impression changed a bit once they have fought together in Pristella.
– Foxidna pointed again to Subaru that she is not same as her creator, even though Subaru mentions that her behavior is eerily similar to her.
– There is a bit of creepy conversation between Subaru and Foxidna regarding the bird, like maybe doing autopsy on them or maybe killing the bird and see what they will do, or making them part of the food supplies which is getting low.
Differences from LN
– Julius is also with them when they are eating. He apologizes to the group for his selfish action.
– Ram flicked on Subaru's forehead to make shape himself up when he met Ram after his encounter with Julius. Subaru thought all she did and said is her way of showing her concerns for him
Self Note
– There is also an interlude chapter by the end of the novel about Witch of Wrath, but it is too flowery and there is not much important details there that is worth adding here, so i'll just skip it for now.
– The pacing and some of the shots is a bit weird in this episode, but i really like how it uses the bird's eye to reflect Subaru and Foxidna.
– Can't wait to see how the rest of the arc goes. I am waiting long enough to see it visualised.

Well I certainly did not expect that ending. Also, Julius' doubts are portrayed so well. The mood of this episode felt so heavy even though Julius is not the main character in ReZero.
