The fact that kazuya didn't have a single thought of mami right after feeling something for chizuru proves that he never loved mami. She was just a part of his fantasy he hadn't genuine feelings for her.

I really feel super bad for Kazuya here because this trash side character stole Kazuya's Christmas with Chizuru. Unknown to Kazuya he's much manlier that this garbage side character but he's always on the edge taking L after L. Worst case scenario this side character might actually win Chizuru because UMI IS THE SELF CHARACTER OF THE AUTHOR WHO DEVELOPED FETISHES ON MIZUHARA. Hence why this trash side character in the story despite being irrelevant because Chizuru has something for Kazuya the thing is Reiji might assassinate Kazuya's character so Reiji can put Umi with Chizuru while Kazuya goes back to Mami via character assassination
