  1. When I first watched this anime years ago I got hooked right away because of the guns and the half-track, but back then I didn’t really care about the story since I was only around 10 and English wasn’t even my first language so I didn’t understand much. Now I’m 18 and rewatching it feels completely different. Seeing Chito and Yuuri walking through these empty cities that used to be full of people but are now just silent ruins honestly makes me kind of sad. Knowing they might be the only ones left in that world hits harder now. It also makes me think about our own world and how something like that, while unlikely, doesn’t feel totally impossible anymore with how things are going. I really just hope it never comes to that because a world like that feels way too empty and depressing to even imagine.

  2. We’re all just brief little sparks on a rock spinning around an average star, in a universe so big
it should make us feel like nothing.
    And it does.
But that’s the gift because when you’re that small, the weight comes off.
The ego, the ambition, the keeping score, none of it matters at the scale of what you’re looking at.
All that’s left is that you’re here at all. Awake.
    Temporary.
On the same rock as everyone you love, for a flicker that’s already ending. That ache you feel looking up at the sky isn’t loneliness.
It’s the receipt for being alive and knowing it won’t last.
    And somehow that the smallness,
    the losing,
the brief warm light before the dark closes back in
is the most beautiful thing there is.
