The good spirit that always help Yayoi-chan (the one in alien doll she carried when visiting the tomb at 10:28) is actually the Taira no Masakado himself.
When Yayoi-chan told Eiko that she visited the tomb long time ago, was the time Yayoi-chan picked up the spirit.

the timing of release of this anime was kinda bad, since that year and during that time, we had back to back amazing anime series that were already getting talked about a lot. Had it aired on another time, should have gained more popularity.
