Episode Summary :
Kasumi Toyama is a normal high schooler with an excessive positivity. When she was watching the starry skies as a kid, she heard the rhythm of the “Star Beat.” Now she tries to recapture the thrill she felt back then by trying out various club activities, but she finds them lacking. One day, as Kasumi went home from school, her eyes laid upon mysterious star stickers placed all over the street. As she follows them, she reached an old pawnshop called “Ryuuseidou…”

Bang Dream was in my watchlist for years, it's time to start it.
Watching season 1 episode 1 always feels refreshing. Now if only Rinko realized that the legendary person who tried all club activities isn't as imaginary as she thought.
Rewatching this made me realized that Kasumi must be the most misunderstood BanG Dream character. That kirakira dokidoki obsession we always made fun of her is so intense it actually consumed her entire being. So much so that she couldn't fill that void no matter what fun things she do. Perhaps that was also the reason why she always want to stay close to Asuka because she was with her when she experience kirakira dokidoki and being with Asuka is the closest thing she had to recreate that feeling. When she learned she wouldn't be able to stay with Asuka for long it troubled her so much she messed up in the bath. The next day we saw her happily spending time with friends only for her to be left alone in the end where she was shown to be visibly uncharacteristically sad and looking so lost. You probably missed it because the next moment she found something glittering on the ground that leads to the biggest turning point of the story. But the next time you thought of Kasumi as just a simple airhead, remember she was this close to her breaking point and you never notice it.
